ESSEL cityREX

The newest addition to the ESSEL Recovery family, the younger and smaller sibling of our flagship T-REX.

This new model is designed to deliver maximum performance where space is limited. cityREX is built on three-axle chassis, combining stability and power with excellent maneuverability.

Compact Power for Narrow Roads

Designed for the challenges of modern cities and narrow streets, the ESSEL cityREX is a compact and versatile recovery and towing vehicle built for tight spaces.

With installation compatibility on chassis with a wheelbase from 3.9 to 5.6 meters, it’s the ideal solution for towing operations where every centimeter counts.

Serious Muscle in a Compact Body

The ESSEL cityREX redefines what a compact tow truck can do.

Built on the completely redesigned ER3317 kit, it delivers exceptional strength and reliability in a size perfectly suited for operations where the space is limited.

Behind its compact silhouette lies an impressive powerhouse of strength.

Fitted with three Sepson winches:

▪ 15-ton and 12-ton on the main crane boom

▪ 24-ton and 15-ton on the main frame

▪ Optional 8-ton winch integrated in the front bumper

▪ A main crane boom is capable of lifting up to 33 t retracted and 10 t fully extended.

▪ A high-performance underlift has a maximum lifting capacity of 20 t retracted and 9t fully extended.

This setup empowers the cityREX to tackle demanding recoveries of heavy vehicles, even in narrow and limited spaces.

Optional Front Winch Integration

For added versatility and forward recovery capabilities, the ESSEL cityREX can be optionally equipped with a front-mounted winch seamlessly integrated into the bumper.

• Integrated 8-ton Sepson winch

Seamlessly housed within the bumper, the 8t winch offers forward-pulling power for complex towing, or self-recovery.

• Ballast-weight function

The bumper also serves as a balancing counterweight, improving vehicle stability during heavy lifts and enhancing traction where it matters most.

Chain Lift – Intelligent Chain Storage, Elevated

Managing heavy chains has never been easier. Integrated into the elevated sections of the body panels, the chain lift is a hydraulically operated chain storage system designed for fast, ergonomic access:

Stores chains in raised front left or right compartment to keep them safe, clean, and organized
Hydraulic lift mechanism effortlessly lowers the tray to operator level at the push of a button.
Eliminates the need for climbing or manual lifting, improving safety and reducing operator fatigue
Stainless steel construction ensures rugged performance and a clen, professional finish

Optional Front Support Legs with Dual-Direction Winch

For added stability and extended recovery functionality, the ESSEL cityREX can be optionally equipped with front support legs integrated with a powerful 8-ton Sepson winch.

Provides additional front-end stability during lifting or winching operations
Integrated 8t winch enables lateral (left/right) pulling, ideal for complex recoveries in tight or angled positions
Increases overall operational flexibility and safety on uneven or unstable terrain

This upgrade is perfect for operators who need maximum versatility and control in challenging urban or roadside environments.

Hydraulic System

The ESSEL cityREX is equipped as standard with a 7+2 section on/off distributor, ensuring reliable control for all core functions. For enhanced precision, an optional 8+5 section proportional valve block is available — allowing smoother operation.

Remote Control Options

The ESSEL cityREX comes standard with a reliable on/off remote control for basic wireless operation. For those requiring greater precision and smoother control, an optional proportional remote system is also available.

Hydraulic Telescopic Flyer

Illuminates the current work scene and ensures perfect visibility of the vehicle even during the darkest night. Safety first! Flyer is controlled by remote control or from the cabin even during the ride.

ESSEL Towing Tools Set

Towing tools set is compatible with all truck manufacturers and helps you reach high efficiency by towing crashed or broken trucks. They are produced on ultra precise CNC milling machines from high strength steel with a galvanized finish for a long life and durability.

Easy Access to the Fuel Tank

Body panels equipped in the front part with retractable steps on both sides of the vehicle for easy access to the elevated parts of the storage space of the body panels and to the fuel tank.

Rear Location of Outlets

New rear location of outlets for pneumatic, electrical or hydraulic outlets with the possibility of their modification, distribution and covering according to customer requirements.

Heating and Square Plates

Heated body panels maximize your comfort during the cold winter season. The square plates hanging system can be used to hang small tools and helps to optimize the storage space of body panels.

Central Lock System

Body panels equipped with a central locking system maximize your comfort. Central lock system can be controlled from cabin or via remote control.

Easy Access to Ad Blue and DPF

Body panels have large service access for maintenance and service of DPF filters and Ad Blue.

Air Drums

Two air circuits with independent air pressure bring air to a distance of up to 15 m from the device and inflate the wheels of the broken car or attach pneumatic tools.
